Can it be eaten?
Nendoroid is the first of a 4 part Nendoroid review series.
Remember a couple of weeks ago I said I wanted to create a Nendoroid Army? Well I actually went ahead purchasing additional Nendoroids to accompany Kureha and Seraphy.
A little background information on Kyouka with the help of our good friend Wiki and Google. Kyouka is from the anime “Kyouran Kazoku Nikki” (狂乱家族日記, The Diary of a Crazed Family) which has been sitting in my hard disk for months and I haven’t started watching it either because of other backlogged anime ):
Anyway, here’s a passage lifted from Wikipedia
A thousand years ago, Enka(閻禍), the god of destruction, died with the word that its ‘child’ would destroy the world. In order to prevent this, the Great Japanese Empire Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures begins ‘Operation Cozy Family’ (なごやか家族作戦, Nagoyaka Kazoku Sakusen) (code name: ‘code-Olympus’). The family is composed of Midarezaki Ōka, an official of the Bureau, and Midarezaki Kyōka, a self proclaimed goddess, as parents; the children are the candidates, human and otherwise, who are potentially the prophesied ‘Child of Enka’. The goal of the operation is to discern which child the prophecy applies to, as well as to teach him or her about the love of family in hopes of convincing him or her to not destroy the world. The story focuses on the mishaps and adventures that the impromptu family.
Anyway this was pretty much an impulse buy because I instantly fell for her Nekomimi. I am a sucker for cats.
But despite it being a reckless purchase, I have totally no regrets since she is a very pretty Nendoroid and the details are equally as impressive
If the golden bells could ring then this would be an awesome buy. If I had the DIY talents, I would replace her neck and wrist bells with real ones! Hopefully a hardcore Otaku out there does it!
I especially love the cat face on her sleeves. However, if you look closely, the Golden buttons on her pink dress was painted with some overlap, so you have the gold color on the pink dress. Small aesthetic matter though!
One of the nice things is that this Nendoroid can stand by herself with the help of her tail. She’s isn’t as stable an Rin but with a little effort you can balance her easily
If balancing isn’t your cup of tea, then making her sit is also entirely possible too!
The 3 faces of Kyouka.
Writing this review just makes me want to watch the anime now. Unfortunately I better not leave other series half-watched because I probably not get back to them next time .^^
In conclusion think this Nendoroid is a very all-rounded Nendoroid with nice faces and is in my books a Nendoroid that you can bring outdoors, though you probably want to watch that strand of hair that is standing. It could significantly more beating than Seraphy, but it will break if you don’t treat her with care.
Until now, I still haven’t figured out what this pink thing is but I guess it will be revealed when I start watching the anime. The Pink think is an awesome prop and you can use to pose with every other Nendoroid now. (it is currently sitting on Rin’s head while she is giggling away ^^)

< ![CDATA[The pink blob looks like a jellyfish to me..]]>
< ![CDATA[I really wanted to get Kyouka, shame she's a good deal more expansive than most of the other nendoroids (3000 yen in contrast to the 2000-2500 yen price of most the others when I saw her)]]>
< ![CDATA[Is that a jelly fish?]]>
< ![CDATA[I think the 2000-2500 usually happens when the shops are clearing stocks.
Pretty sure Kyouka will drop to that price level in a few months time ^^]]>
< ![CDATA[I suspect so, will confirm when I start watching the anime itself tonight ^^]]>
