This is going to be a pretty picture intensive post so brace yourself. Please don’t hold me responsible if your iPhone crashes while loading this post ^^
Kyouka: The Sunrise is beautiful isn’t it?
Rin: HAI HAI~desu!
Me and comrade Waltz had been planning to wake up early to take awesome pictures of the sunrise for almost a month, but the powers of the human laziness coupled with bad weather made us postpone our plans for many many moons
But with some luck and some determination we managed to force our bodies out of slumber mode and headed down to the beach this morning. It was all worth it. No matter how many times you catch the sunrise, it always gives a different warm and fuzzy feeling each time.
We arrived at the Sembawang beach (which is located at the northern end of Singapore) early in the morning. It was still pretty dark and the parking lots were all empty. The park was still illuminated by bright yellow lights at that time.
Rin is pretty excited about the whole sunrise thing. Kyouka-sama was still sleeping in my bag.
Despite our early arrival, there were already a bunch of people from a Church camp already camping for the sunrise.
It’s really amazing how fast the sky turns from dark to light during dawn. This was barely 5 minutes apart from the first picture.
Kyouka finally wakes up and joins Rin to watch the beautiful event that is going to unfold!
A very excited Rin decides to take some pictures.
(ohhh…. pictured ruined by the silhouettes of the couple walking down the path ).
And yes, Rin is standing on the DIY Nendoroid carrier I made just the previous day ^^
Very soon, streaks of bright orangery red can be seen across the sky, signifying the arrival of the sun.
Kyouka is starting to get really impatient with all the waiting…
…. and it didn’t take long enough for the first bright red light to appear ! The thing about sunrises and sunsets is that they just happen really really fast and you got to by quick with your camera to snap snap snap the nice scenes. I am very sure that Rin and Kyouka would have helped if they had a camera.
すごい!! (sugoi)
And the sun streaks into the clouds in a flash, but that’s not the end, even when the sun is hiding in the clouds, it will occasional disperse it’s sun rays through the gaps in the clouds, creating spectacular lighting!
The clouds act as a nice filter, illuminating the water and skywith a smooth orangery gradient.
(damm, typing orange so many time makes me want to pop some orange tic tac into my mouth)
Here is part of the sky without the sun. Less glare to the eyes and definitely a lot smoother in the gradient department. If only there were some cute bikini girls on the beach, the scene would be 100% complete
Rin and Kyouka catching the last few seconds of the sunrise. Don’t you think this picture is so sweet? They look like sisters! Actually all my Nendos are sisters to one another anyway ^^
Rin: YAY YAY YAY
Kyouka: MORE MORE!
And after spending a good hour, we left the place feeling happy to have caught such a beautiful moment (:
We headed do the nearby Chongpang wet market to have out breakfast. But this time, we were already feeling the effects of waking up earlier than usual with little sleep the night before
I am always amazed how the elderly wake up so early all the time. This old lady is peddling her goods to other old people. They are probably most interested in the local fruit delight, the DURIAN (that spiky green fruit with bad smell which I happen to hate)
Almost all eateries in Singapore have banned smoking or have designated areas for smoking, though some people still don’t bother by these signs
And nothing to end the whole trip with a good meal and a cup of ICE COLD BARLEY
Hope you enjoyed reading this extra long and image intensive post! I probably want to share a little more.
In Singapore, the people are usually caught up with their lives and most of our lives are consists of the same routine everyday. Today I heard an inspirational lesson on the radio which encourages us to break out of our comfort zone to experience the unknown.
Honestly I am a really good example of a creature of comfort. I don’t really like new things, though I would do new things without hesitation if their fun and interesting level is 10/10. I guess there’s where my extreme personality comes from. Anyway the point is, if I didn’t try new things or break my routine, you wouldn’t be looking at these nice sunrise pictures and probably this blog won’t exist anyway, and I would be lost in life not know what I like.
Take for example storytelling. I made an effort to sign up for volunteer storytelling last year and I have always been looking forward every Thursday where I get to be around children and create an extremely fun experience with them at the library. If I didn’t try, I never would have knew ^^
“Must try new things”
do that, and you will know yourself better, know more people, and find that you will find your life being a more fufilling one.

Hope you enjoyed!

Of course if it were me I'd still be awake when the sun rises and then go to bed as birds are chirping outside my window...]]>
< ![CDATA[The average human being sleeps at around 11pm and wake up at around 6.30am in this part of our woods
Considering that I am not average, I usually wake up at 8am
We had to get up at 5.30am just to get ready for this little trip lol @___@]]>
