Sand, Sun and the Sea

It was in the afternoon and I had some free time in between my tutees’ lessons so I decided to cycle to the nearby beach to kill off time; with my nendoroid daughters of course

The beach was Sembawang Beach, located at the Northern side of Singapore, facing Malaysia. Although the road sign looks like it came from the time of the
dinosaurs, the park actually got renovated a few times.

The bicycle route to the park was definitely scenic, and there was no much cars/people due to it being mid-afternoon.
The route was lots of uphill and downhill slopes though, so it was quite tiring cycling!

Reached the park at last. The paths were shaded with lots of tall trees and it was a real calming atmosphere. I could sleep here if I wanted too.

Reached the edge of the park which was the beach in no time. Sharp eyed readers would immediately notice the uncanny similarities between this and the sunrise shoot long ago with Rin and Kyouka. Yes, it is the same beach, and the same spot.
Why this spot? Because it had the least people around ^^

Some guy fishing. Well, actually I don’t think he was fishing. Probably was leveling up his fishing rod skills. He was doing that move for a few times.

I actually sat down and enjoyed the sea breeze for pretty long before taking off my socks and shoes to do into the water. The sea breeze was awesome. The salty smell and the breeze in the afternoon heat made me smile to myself. It’s nice to just slow down in our fast paced life schedules to just enjoy something as mundane as this. (:

Kagami approaches the sea with extreme caution. She hasn’t been to one and the last time she was wet was during the rainy day where she and Rin took refuge in a park shelter. Probably didn’t have a good impression of water after that!

The water isn’t that scary after all!

Rin joins in the fun and they wriggle their little feet in the water.

The waves can be rather strong at times though.

I love this shot of Rin. She’s actually shouting out loud her love for sensei kodomut. How sweet!

After that, I took a break from picture taking to continue looking around. The guy was still leveling up his fishing rod skills.

The sun set was already setting by this time. Very beautiful when you see the sun rays through the trees!

Her tiny little nendoroid footprints in the sand made by her cute little legs!

And of course, what is a beach outing without burying someone in sand?
After that, I decided to cycle to the other end of the beach to have a clearer view of the sunset without being blocked by the trees.

Meet a pretty neko on the way there. She was very cautious, never let me touch her, but she kept rubbing herself against my legs when I sat down on the bench. She would dodge my hand if I tried to stroke her. Some attitude!

At the other end of the beach, there as a wooden platform. Lots of people fishing here!
Wonder if they actually can catch anything?

The view was absolutely stunning. I would have wanted to stay longer but lessons were starting soon so I only had the chance to take a few pictures.
In case you are wondering why there are cargo ships here, it’s because that’s Sembawang Port. Not a very busy port I think, but these few big ships look scary enough.

End of trip!

Before I end this post, I’d like to share the last picture taken of my trusty bicycle which was stolen yesterday. Thanks to all the response on twitter, some were a real laugh to read ^^!

For those uninitiated, the story is as follows; I locked my bicycle at the void-deck of my tutee’s block and 1.5 hours later after the lesson, when I went back down, it was gone. Don’t think I had anything this significant stolen in my life! Sad, but nothing I can do now. Hopefully I can get a replacement soon, or else there outdoor photoshoots would be stalled for a while!
