Overcoming Adversity

Drossel Memory Log <15 July 2009; 1304hrs>

When I arrived at Kodomut‘s doorstep, my twin tail was already broken. I have no idea if I was a defect; just like humans born with disabilities, or was I  just an unlucky Drossel Figma from the production line.

The result of the defect was little plastic knob was stuck on my head and it was really a sore sight. I felt like Clare Bennett from the hit TV series: Heroes, where a stick pierced her cerebral area in the first season and jammed her regeneration ability.

In any case, despite my problem, I’ve made a new friend at my new home. She’s called Kagamin. Apparently a pretty twin tail girl too, though a little on the small side. I think she’s another type of lifeform called a “Nendoroid”. From my knowledge, Kagamin’s creators share a special relationship with my creators.

Anyway, I explained to her my problem. She wasn’t much help though. Probably due to her lack of intelligence, but it was comforting to know that someone was listening to my predicament.

Kagamin only managed to grasp the problem after I showed her how my twin tail connector was supposed to look like. I guess she was more of a visual learner.

I could just bum around and complain of how I was a result of either bad shipping or unlucky production fault, but that would not change a thing.

I decided that the best course of action was to remedy this problem.

I found a powerful type of superglue which I assume created the intangible matter called “Gravity”. The instructions to use this biochemical weapon were clearly written on the back of the packaging.

After reading the instructions, I laid my right twin tail on a workbench and prepared to apply the glue on it.

After application, the instructions said to apply mild pressure on to the parts for “2-30 seconds”. Which I did for exactly 14.01 seconds since it is best to follow the median.

The superglue worked like a charm and my twintail was fixed. Kagamin was easily excited when she saw that I possessed the same type of hair-do as her. I wonder if I would meet more twin-tailed girls around this new environment.

I shall record this in my hard-drives as a reference of tenacity for future generations. Giving up and complaining would have been a tempting, but it would not have changed the fact that I was damaged.

Instead opt to find solutions to any adversity that you face, and change things with your own hands.
