Attended STGCC (Singapore Toy, Games and Comics Convention) on Thursday night with a Media pass which I was able to get with the help of LEon from Openthetoy. Being able to roam the exhibition grounds without a massive crowd was a great experience and I could take my time being trigger happy with my camera. STGCC caters to many types of toy collectors with different interests and likes.
To facilitate you in imagining and should you decide to go down and take a look for yourself during the exhibition days (14th – 16th; Friday – Sunday), I will show you where the pictures are taken on the map of the exhibition ground.
The first stop is MOL.

The booth is located near the 402 hall entrance and is beside the 501st Garrison which I will talk about later.
Basically the MOL booth is showcasing an MMORPG which features really cute girls. As you can see, Drossel takes an interest in the game. Would appeal to people who are interested in the likes of MMORPG and very cute female characters ^^. The booth has 3 computers showing the videos of the game if I am not mistaken, but I did not get a chance to see the gameplay as I did not linger long enough!
—-
Moving along from MMORPGS, just above MOL is the
Supply Toys booth.

The Supply Toys both would appeal to most people with it’s wide range of toys mostly ranging from popular movies and familiar cartoons.
I am sure that Hellboy and THIS IS SPARTA would cause most people to pause and look at the figures.
Drossel also spots something very interesting that would definitely appeal to the Bleach fangirls and fanboys. Not a fan of Bleach though. Would get a Soifon figure if there was ever one though!
Btw, is this supposed to be some exclusive figure? The comic con sticker at the top left is supposed to represent what?
TMNT was one of my most favourite childhood cartoons. Practically grew up with them though the interest died out as I grew up.
Also notice the stacks of STARWARS toy boxes the TMNTs are residing on. I forsee a huge crowd here during the 3 days with little boys begging their mummies to buy them more toys made popular by movies of cartoons!
—-
The Artist Alley
is where budding and talented artists gather.

On display are very interesting figures and artworks. At the time when I went, most of them were still setting up their booths so I only managed to only get a few interesting shots.
I like this evil looking turtle. Would be very tempted to get it if it was smaller to a scale that of my Nendoroids. My little girls need some pets.
Wrecker Tile. Very interesting booth layout ^^!
Would probably take more pictures of this place when I get back on Saturday. Some of the works look really awesome!
—-

I think I took these next few shots around this stretch. I was wandering around quite aimlessly and I was at one point more interested in getting a closer look with my own eyes rather than taking pictures ^^
Anyway this stretch of booths are mostly inclined to CG and imaging works. You will get to see paintings, drawings and artworks mostly on computer or printed mediums. This would be your place if you are into artworks.
M.A Studio. No idea where they were because I don’t seem to be able to find them on the map. In any case, they produce these plump looking dolls. Not my kind of thing, but definitely appeals to a niche audience!
Was more interested in these little guys. Would look great with Nendoroids. The props were really adorable, especially the little mushrooms. The sheep is really cute beyond words. No idea which booth this was though >_<!
—
The Association of Comic Artists (Singapore)

These guys would be easy to spot because of this vividly colored strip of characters on the floor at the front of their booth.
If manga drawing is your thing then you might want to pop by this booth and see how they do drawing with tablets and iMacs! Some of them are really good and they sell shirts with their drawings on it.
—
Next up is Candy House.
Fellow Otaku comrades would flock to these place.

They sell…
Strategically displayed to not ruin the innocence of little kids. Aside from books and Dakimakura Covers, they also sell keychains, bags, accessories, little replica weapons such as those from FS/N and items which I don’t even know the name for. If only they had an Ayame (Asu no Yoichi) Dakimakura cover….
—
Movie Mania is just beside Candy House.
Don’t think we need any introduction on what they specialise in!
Ironman masks. I wonder how heavy they are!
—-
OtakuHouse and Xapid Culture is another place that has stuff I was interested in.

I wanted to get this little Domo-Kun. Don’t recall ever mentioning it before but I like Domo-kun a lot. Infact, GSC should make a Domo-kun Nendoroid.
But I refrained from making any purchases today. This little guy cost 15++ SGD!
Xapid Culture specialises in selling Gunpla. I saw the kit which EVERYONE seems to be talking about these few days!
—-
Vincent Collection has a fair bit of Anime figures and Figmas.

A Mikuru Gekisou!
Briareos II!
There was no Figma Drossel though!
—-
Upper Deck is promoting the World of Warcraft TCG

Used to play World of Warcraft on a hardcore level for a few years. Brings back memories ^^
Aside from the card game, they are also promoting the board game which involves many little figures. The figures are brought in boxes of 3 random figures. A total of 66 to collect.
Can never understand how the game is played though ^_^”
—
The Bandai booth takes up a large area with it’s Gashapon machines!

Gundam is obligatory with any Bandai booth.
Drossel takes interest in bikini babes from the Gashapon machines?!
I like these Monster Hunter keychains!
These Gashapon machines really sell everything don’t they?
Chibi Gundam guards the Gundam Gashapons.
Kamen trading figures which Kamen fans will love. Beside the Kamen Riders are Haruhi trading figures. The swimsuit Yuki actually looks quite good.
—
Hasbro booth has tonnes of Transformers

Strategically placed in the middle of the whole ground. Hasbro is poised to take over the world.
The beast Megatron to the left looks too adorable and Barney-like to be scary.

This is old school. Before the movie version came out. This was how I envisioned Megatron to be for almost a decade.

Adorable Megatron to your right.

You can find much more different types of Optiums than the different types of Ramen on the menu in a Ramen shop.

Sadly, I am not a mecha type of person and I think that all transformers look more or less the same ^^!

Breadou + Action City

Breadou is not edible bread, but a product similar to the stress-ball which you squeeze. Instead of squeezing balls, you squeeze bread. The breadou bread also has a fragrance and they come in all shapes and sizes.
Bear shaped!
Long, short, round. Any shape and size you want!
Action City has a few very nice Hot Toys.
Police Bat
Man of Iron
Terminated
The details on these figures are jaw-dropping. Seeing images of them online is one thing, but seeing them with my own eyes is quite awesome. Now, if only they made female figures…. ^^
—-
Animax voice acting

The Animax booth is unique indeed. It’s actually a sound studio where you can go in and try our voice acting. They let you voice a certain character from some anime (with the dialogue written down for you of course). It looks real fun and it’s actually a competition where the best voice would win some prize.
The Animax guy explaining to us what the booth is about.
Voice acting makes people happy (^ω^)
—-
Starwars.SG + 501st Garrison

You can’t miss them. You can feel the Force from the other end of the hall.
Their booth has lots of interesting trooper helmets.
But today them troopers were on guard duty for the G.O.H
Doing the Empire proud.
The Force is strong.
Starwars.Sg seemed to be setting up even when I was going to leave the place. They did have their little figures set up though, really tiny and cute. If I am not mistaken, Starwars.SG are selling teddy bears @ $2 each for a good cause!
I found this to be absolutely entertaining. The troopers, not the game ^^
—
Blythe doll booth

I don’t usually fancy dolls except Dollfies, but for some reason I really like this doll! There are other awesome dolls on display and some of them are REALLY pretty!
This one reminds me of Kylie Minogue!
—
And some random pictures!
I would probably buy a Domo-kun shirt when I go back on Saturday to take pictures of the Cosplay.
GITAH hero.
Kagamin getting kidnapped.
Predator
GI Joes.
I like this cat a lot too!
—
And interestingly I got a goodie bag with lots of goodies within…
The monkey and the purple little thing are my new playthings for my Nendroids. Watch them in action soon!
What a day! Hope this loooooong post gives you a rough picture of what is installed for you at STGCC 09. I’m sure you’ll find many many interesting toys that you have never seen before and hopefully your purse will not be totally damaged at the end of the day! I’ll be going back to take pictures of the cosplay event on Saturday, so stay tuned for more pictures of the event!
Read them other comrades coverages because I am selective on what I cover ^^:
