Ever since version 1 of lighted Drossel, I’ve been fiddling around, trying to compact the design and making it neater since the original was a real mess! ^^
I reverted back to the white light instead of the blue light version
I personally felt that the white LEDs were more true to the animation itself!
Spent the next few days cleaning up the umbilical cord, making it more compact and neater.
Seriously in love with the lights!

Tried some other props but did not really get the desired effect.
Anyway, that was yesterday’s pictures. Today I decided to scrap the whole design and redo everything. Quite painful to strip the original design after having so much touch ups but looking at the end result, I think it was all worth it.
Here are the radical changes I did.
The aim was to make a mobile power source so that the umbilical power cord was not a permanent fixture. I decided that the circular batteries (they have a CR XXXX) label. I originally planned to use the battery from a dead Mac Mini, so I pried out the battery + holder. Unfortunately the holder did not work.
Luckily when I went to down to get resistors and extra LEDs at the electronics store today, I came across the holder for the CR2032 battery and bought it.
The next thing was to figure out how to mount the holder onto Drossel.
The first idea I had was to saw off the stand connector and superglue the joint to the battery holder. The glue was perfect and as hard as it could be.
Was really lucky to have had my Drossel broken out of the box and had to go down to get superglue. This superglue is awesome. It’s from Selleys and it’s called Selleys Plastics Glue. Highly recommended for your broken parts.
I trimmed the umbilical cord significantly since it only needed to connect to the battery which would be mounted at the back.
Some soldering and a switch at the side later…..
Drossel has a backpack and is mobile and lighted.
I guess there could be many other ways to be mobile! This was the best idea I could come up with my present materials. I’m not any soldering or electronics geek, so I’m pretty sure someone will come up with a better idea!
My Drossel is still able to be USB powered; but that’s a post for another time. The ACME people whom I will be meeting up with on Saturday will be able to see her in USB and mobile mode though!

Just wondering, did you have to mod the head at all to install the LEDs? I can’t find my Revoltech Pliers so I can’t take the neck joint out to verify myself.
