Labrador Nature Reserve, found along the southern coast of Singapore, was once a military fort during the Second World War. Today, me and comarde Alafista braved the blazing afternoon heat to head down for a photoshoot and to learn abit of history of the place.
Getting to Labrador Nature Reserve is quite easy, there is a direct bus service from Harbourfront bus interchange, just opposite Vivo City. We alighted at the top of the cliff facing the sea. The area was a cliff fort during the War and there were gun batteries all along the cliff facing the sea as the British expected a seaborne invasion.
The view from the cliff was spectacular and you can see the jetty from the top. Lush greenery were also abundant along the sides of the cliff. It was a very breath taking view. I refrained from taking any high risk shots this time, although I wanted to place Kagami on the railings.
Being experienced travelers, my 2 little girls where kind enough to calm Alafista’s Sumomo and Al Azif (whom I’ll be naming “Demon Girl”) by holding their tiny hands. My Kagami and Maritan are so seasoned in traveling that they would put boy scouts in shame.
Sumomo fell asleep pretty quick, just minutes from arriving at the top of the cliff. Could be the afternoon heat. It was really very hot and the shade provided by the trees provided a nice cooling spot to sleep. Kagami comes in with her trademark poke to awake the sleeping beauty!
Wooden logs and dried brown leaves under the shade of trees were also a good place to indulge in some light reading. While Sumomo is still in her dreamland, Demon Girl decides to partake in some intellectual pursuits. She’s extremely adorable!
There were statues of military men who manned the fort during the War. Maritan jumps into role-play mode the instant she saw the statues. Doubt she could carry the artillery shell though! The fort was manned by Singaporean and Hong Kong forces during the war.
We did not spend much time up on the cliff and headed down towards the jetty area. The place lacked the shade of the forested area but it had lots of nice rocks and trees. Demon girl enjoys her afternoon green tea while sitting on a shady tree.
Martian opt for some rock climbing training instead.
Unfortunately rock climbing isn’t catered for most nendoroids.
There where quite a number of people fishing at the Labrador. Fishing is a sport of patience. Something which I probably can’t do.
Our actually aim of the day was to catch the sunset at the jetty area which was this platform where there were lots of fishermen fishing.
We were pretty exhausted at this point and we decided to take a long break under the shelter at the jetty. I took out sweet little Yutaka.
Don’t think she could run under the sun in the anime though. ^^
Fishermen as usual!
I mentioned previously that Konata/Yutaka figma body had great balance, though not as awesome as Drossel. Love how you can pose them without stands!
Meanwhile, back at the shade, them nendoroids were doing their own weird things, probably going crazy from the heat!
Demon Girl really looks very sweet!
Potential to be an illegal arms trader too!
Konata tries to make Miku smile for the camera but it seems that it isn’t working.
Miku is just asking to get bullied with that face of hers. Can’t wait to get mine later this month!
She has a lovely pantsu too.
We know that fact thanks to Konata ^^!
Haruhi ends this chapter of the Labrador Park Travelogue. Hope you enjoyed this place. I love nature so it was a blast for me to have come here! Please check out comrade Alafista‘s entry for some really hilarious pictures of his awesome Miku and adorable Sumomo!

Lovely pictures! I forgot what’s the name of the demon girl. >_< Al Azif I think – She looks extremely adorable!
Al Azif from Demonbane
Superb! Btw which lens are you using, I kinda blow my 17-85mm f4-5.6 lens, need to get a new one soon
Nikkor 18-55mm AFS, the standard lens kit.
Lovely photos (as usual
)
But you do realise that in her first picture Maritan is doing her “one fingered salute” to the pair in front, don’t you?
Spot more weird poses and missing limbs/parts!
It’s really cool of you to show all these different locales in Singapore. I’ve never been to all these places before. Taking your nendoroids with you makes it entertaining and refreshing too!
Keep up the awesome work!
hehehe you and your figures have a lot of fun
Holy fuck, that picture of Kagami holding Sumomo’s hand must be one of the cutest photos I’ve ever seen on your blog!
Lol, you’re right about fishing being a sport of patience. In all my years of fishing (because I was made to do so, lol), I’ve only ever caught one fish. Maritan’s right, rock climbing is a lot more fun!
Beautiful photos, as always!
So many small accessories; I especially like the book.
See any of the fishermen catch anything? I occasionally fish as well, guess I’m a jack of all trades. ^^;
I did not pay much attention to them, but I doubt they caught anything! Never tried fishing and probably won’t try anytime soon. I’m pretty restless!
awww! Sumomo still in her jammies. So cute :3 and I see you’ve revived the famous “poke” photo.
You make me regret not getting nendo Kagamiku more and more ;A;
Better get her ASAP! before you get more regrets later on when new nendoroids arrive ^^
Ahh cutesome group shot!
Maritan seems to be constantly in training, guess she doesn’t like to get rusty ^^;
Did the cake Al Azif is holding up there come with her?
And thx Konata to show us Mikus pantsu xD
Cake belongs to lovely Soniko ^_~!
echi konata!! lol…. miku expression is just priceless
My expression from the frustration to get that pose was pretty priceless too.
Also your balancing the figures using natural lines and cracks instead of stands is excellent. (I have no patience personally) Do you ever have to stick them down?
“Also your balancing the figures using natural lines and cracks instead of stands is excellent. (I have no patience personally) Do you ever have to stick them down?” I was about asking the same…the walking nendos are so awesome! They dont use stand! neither their hair as help! YAAAAY MIRACLE!
