Henshin part 2 is here with our lovely Kagamiku wearing her left armor sleeve after wearing her leggings yesterday. Originally I wanted to use the diorama picture for the heading but it felt very messy and I prefered the heading angle much more.
The header picture isn’t a very well taken picture since it was a “rehearsal” pose for the actual shot but the angle is really interesting. I rarely take figure with their back half-facing me but the curves from the contours of Drossel’s body coupled with the twintails was just pure chemistry. As I’ve mentioned before, trying out new angles and composition from the usual face on shots is pretty rewarding!
I love taking these one pix much more than making stories. Believe it or not, stories actually are easier to conjure. I’ve come to realise another fun part of figure photography. While making stories was pretty fun, I find that trying to pose figures just for 1 shot is also equally as fulfilling since there is so much more challenge doing it.
Loading …So anyway want more henshin poses? I’ve got so much more ideas for the other figures.
Can’t wait to get my shipment of 3 figmas and 7 nendoroids later this month/early next month!

I vote for Stories as Kodomuts Stories really motivated me to buy more Nendoroids and Figmas .
Also , The stories are quite hilarious . In that poll , Its really hard to vote on of the options . I like Kodomut’s inspring 1 picture pix too ^_^

Doesn’t take up a lot of time actually. I guess it’s coming up with the concept that takes the longest. I only get ideas on the bus/train and during jogging. ^^
That’s neat! I used to come up with ideas when I am on the bus, sometimes when I dream LOL!

Mind sharing what you use for lighting and what lens you use for your shots?
I use a table lamp indoors, and a 50mm f1.8 prime lens on a D40 for my shots.
Simple but effective! I tend to use the ambient light in my office desk. I’ll bring a lamp next time. But I really like the light falloff that comes out of your photos.
I like both stories and 1 pics! but yea I think need more work to do a nice 1 shot post!

I started to do figure photograpy. But then I got bored and only did a news thing for my blog. ^^
I tried setting up nendoroids, not for story, but just for arranging for different photos. It’s time consuming to switch parts all the time. I can’t get the hang of it.
hmmm… now that you’ve revealed the original photo, I’m guessing you had the camera on a tripod, and took two pix. The first one is with the figure setup, the second is without. Then it was a matter of cutting your hand out using the empty background pic.

My photoshops skills are horrible and I have no patience actually. There’s no compositing involved at all, it’s really 10 floors up on the ledge!
The only other thing I can think of is a mirror. Smoke and mirrors!

The henshin pics are nice. Hand joints with another, really brings the feeling of taking off.

7 Nendos… I was going to guess on ‘baby’ Drossel but she isn’t released yet. The RC Miku? Reimu, Saber Lily… the rest is anyone’s guess. ^^

i cant decide, i find the the 1 pix interesting and the stories funny. actually the 1 pix is a story in it self that allows us to imagine the possibilities sometimes(a picture is worth a thousand words) ^^ we’ll be happy with whatever you go with!
