Buns and Tails

Recently on Google Wave, Dcal-san posed a question to me since we are both owners of the lovely Nendo Asakura Yume.

I also wanted to ask you how to attatch Yume’s bun-tail things to her Neko mimis. Couldn’t figure it out and JJ broke one of the tails when trying to pull it out. =_=”

Very sad that her Yumetails broke, so here’s a post on how I play around with her twin tails.

Asakura Yume comes with 2 hair accessories, a bun and a pair of nekomimis. You can attach her hair tails to either one. The problem is that the hair tails are pretty fragile.

The holes at the bottom of the ears and buns are the connecting points for the hair tails.

The hair tails look like this. A red ribbon part and a the brown hair part. I am not too sure if it’s one mold or they are joined together by some powerful force but the part where red means brown looks to me to be preeeeeeetty fragile. So the trick to pry them out is to pull while holding the red ribbon part.

Hold the hair tail like this.

Instead of this.

and pull the tail out in a circular motion.

Or if you are in a loss on what to do, enlist the help of puchis. They are pretty good that this stuff.

Puchi Miku is quite the hardworking helper at home. Very adorable. Looks like I’m liking her more and more over Kyouka since Miku has no trouble standing and she can have more than one pose ^^

I prefer to have Yume with her nekomimi so I’d have the buns lying around. Might as well make some good use out of it.

Looks like I might have to fix Dcal-san’s Yume the next time we meet up.

I actually regretted buying Nendo Askura Yume since I’m really tight on my budget this month and the upcoming ones, and I don’t really favour nendoroids wearing white since they get dirty so easily. But Asakura Yume can actually sit pretty nicely and she can stand when she’s wearing her pawed feet so I guess it isn’t such a bad purchase after all. Comes with many nice accessories too.

Got my D90 and should be arriving in a week or two. I’ll probably list up 1/7 Saber Lily on ebay and a few other figures which are coming up such as Nendoroid Theia. Doesn’t help when GSC is going to release wallet black holes this month too.

But anyway, the nendo A-Z will continue when I figure out O, been busy with social life these few days, which is the reason for the lack of updates and the no-response to emails which flooded my mailbox throughout the later part of the week. Will upload a ton of pics and reply emails later next week though so stay tuned!

On another note, I received a lovely Christmas card in the mail a couple of days ago.

It’s a Kyouka! Mailed to me by Chun ^^; Looks like I have to get down making cards and mailing them soon. Hope your postcard reaches you in one piece Chun. I’ll have Kyouka make you a Christmas card and mail it to you in a couple of days!

And in cased you missed the tweet during the middle of the week, new desktop picture at last. Saber Lily was sitting on the desktop for almost 2 months.

Need to find a way to obtain a GSC BRS scaled figure when it releases since I missed the pre-order ):
