Previous posts on the Diorama here and here.
Many thanks to Zh3us on the timelapse of the photosession!
As I mentioned earlier, the diorama was a blast to make. First time making dioramas and it was really fun just walking around Daiso looking for ideas and inspiration. The hardest part was definitely smashing the bricks into shape and figuring a way to mount Canaan without her original stand.
Unfortunately the shoot did not go as smooth as I wanted it to. I actually intended to shoot in the day, but Alphard only was brought to me at night since I had to borrow it. And since Alphard is a blackish figure, good lighting was necessary; something which I don’t have.
Getting the Canaan logo was quite a problem too. Decided to handwrite it on the bricks instead of styrofoam.
Anyway glad some of the photos turned out fine! Now I’ll have to figure out what to do with the huge ass diorama. Any takers ^^?
Next diorama project won’t be that huge or time consuming. I’m sure the next one will be a hit with most people (:

Woah! Nice diorama and awesome photos. Btw, did you use smoke in the photoshoot?
So you DIY pegs to place the figures or did you just embed the base into the diorama?
Created own stand slots for them. Smoke came from burning the original stands.
LOL Burning the original stands.
Love photo number 1,4,5,6. My fav is number 1 I think. Really cool. Hum alphard is awesome somehow
btw why u didn’t use single spot light like before? Maybe it can be more dramaticaly
like a moonlight. Just my opinion
Lighting was bad, hard to pull spotlight shots on Alphard.
Last shot is my favorite. I don’t like Alphard’s face sculpt on this figure though. It looks off to me for some reason. orz Great job!
Yeah, same, Alphard’s sculpt looks funny certain angles.
Love the spotlight on Canaan!
Second last shot looks really epic too
Same, loved the spot light!
Good job
what did you do with the base? can’t see it from the photos
Still in a corner, deciding what to do with it lol!
It’s nice how the walls of the flat made it look like it was shot in the city, lol. Like the way it turned out
I actually wanted to use the blocks opposite for the backdrop, but it was too dark at night ):
This looks so awesome~!
Are you really thinking of throwing the diorama away? D:
Also, would you be doing a Alphard x Canaan nendo version? XDD
There’s really no space to keep the diorama in my too small a room.
You want a nendo version?
Simple yet well-executed concept. Love it! The spotlight is a stylish touch; for that reason, I really like the dark shots.
I threw away los of dark shots actually =X
nice diorama
Thanks bro! ^^
Keep the set somewhere safe, and have it exhibited during an event. =D
It’s really epic and who knows if you would want to use it again for another idea…. (so far I can think of it being used in a top down shoot with the “love is war” miku scaled figure. Could go with Nendo Ein also.)
Nendo Ein! I guess so, she needs some love too!
Had a great time shooting with you! And thanks for the Flash tips! ^^:
I’m still learning myself
Too bad someone insisted evening =P
I like the first processed (sepia?) pic!
It’s just a desaturated silhouette pic
SUPER NICE!! I love the 3rd photo of Canaan in that spotlight, got the city fight feel
D
you should keep the set! Might come in handy in the future, you know!
Yeah, that’s one of my most fav shot too!
the debris look cool…!!!
Smashed bricks never looked so good (:
This is really cool. I’m looking forward to your next diorama project =W=
Oh, it’s going to be much easier so I’m quite anxious to work on it tomorrow too!
Alphard looks so cool with her mean face expression =D
1,2,3 and are very good pictures
Evil smile (:
Rly nicely done! Awesome work on that setup! ^^ One of best I’ve seen so far. Very creative!
Haha, thanks. Nothing creative, got the idea from the original promo image
The diorama looks so great and really fits the figure.
Such creative thoughts never crosses my mind. ;_;
This is so crazy! I also totally love the diorama construction posts. Thanks for showing all of that.
