Drilling

For a few months now, I’ve had my 2nd Drossel body handless because of some freak accident involving a morning exercising that required stretching and rapid arm movements. The body was lying in this huge transparent box with parts there were broken, cracked or missing. Also known as the box of stuff that needs to be fixed. I’ve procrastinated fixing the hand for ages actually. If I remember correctly, it broke in January this year.

Actually I had no idea how to fix it. I’ve heard many stories of certain Drossels losing their arm to the white joint but I did not follow up on how they got it fixed. Read on figure.fm that the other comrades mailed GSC or the supplier and got a replacement joint. I have no idea how to get the white joint out of the torso until I cut open her chest so I don’t think that a replacement joint would do any good at all.

Meet one of my secret weapons, the Drill. I guess one of the best ways to make a replacement joint is to drill a hole in and use a leg joint from the extra body of figma Cute to replace the broken joint. Drilling is damm fun by the way. Drilled some nendoroid heads which had broken neck joints. The mess it creates when drilling isn’t fun though, little pieces of plastic flying everywhere.

And guess what, the right hand broke after I fixed the left.

Nothing like a good drilling. Should have filed the rough edges off, but who cares.

Not the prettiest, but it works like a charm!

At last I’ve got a Drossel to carry around once again.

One of these days, when I’m free I’ll make a set of little pink butterfly wings for that cute little Yayoi.
