Have not been updating for the longest time because I’ve been occupied playing the awesomest game of the year, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. And also I blame it on the fact that my camera battery charger is with a certain comrade and I won’t be getting it back anytime soonish.

So for those of you living under a rock, Monster Hunter is a game where you control an avatar who is a monster hunter and then you go around killing monsters and carving their parts to make pretty armor and weapons. Although it sounds boring, the gameplay is highly addictive and the multiplayer aspect is what makes the game shine in my eyes.

I’ve been playing the game’s PSP series since MHF, which is the first one, which was around 4 years ago if my memory serves me correctly.

The making of armor is one that I like also. It’s not about powerful armor with good abilities that I like. It’s about looking pretty and cute ^^; Or sometimes, looking scary and awesome!

I would wear something that’s weaker just to look pretty.

There are lots of new monsters in this the 3rd and current version of this game. CAPCOM has really gone all the way to create new monsters that are a pain (which means really fun) to fight. The first elder dragon that you can easily unlock in the Gathering Bath House was a nice fight.

Took me and another comrade 4 tries to nail him.

For those who know the game, I use Dual Blades a lot, and I find the Ore class armor (アグナ, アロイS, インゴットS) are one the best to get you through the HRs. You just need to do the gathering quests to get the the ores and you can make the armor with very desirable stats for dual blades (達人 and 研ぎ師) . Each of the set can easily be remade as you progress through the guild hall and it has a ton of sockets for jewels to have various combinations.

I like this reason, I’m glad to hear that Capcom added plenty of new monsters. Now to patiently wait for a release in a language I can read.

You know the final boss is actually a rehash of the MH3 bosses sans 1 move do you? :P

Other than that, yeah Capcom did quite well on making some new enemies, really enjoy this game! The best part about MHP3 is that one armor I’m using…

Lol in my case i’m a Long Sword / Switch Axe user. Switch Axe is hard to wield yet deadly if you were able to strike at the right moment.

The newly-added features make gameplay smoother, which probably explains why the monsters have doubled in difficulty level. For me,I’ll probably stick to the Long Sword/Light Bowgun, since I’m most experienced in them. Then again,no chance of playing this new installment until the English patch is released.:(
