As mentioned before, during my Taiwan trip, I brought along nendos HMO Miku, Kokonoe Rin and Kirino. I was pretty rusty bringing nendoroids out since it was really long ago that I took them out for picture taking. As a result I damaged them quite badly. Miku’s right twintail joint broke during the 7th day and Rin fell down from a terribly high place, hit the floor and the parts scattered into different directions into thick bushes.
As a result, I had a ton of damage repairs to do when I got back to Singapore. Miku came into contact with quite a number of questionable liquids which included dirty water and delicious soup. Had to wipe the stains off her.
Plus, the broken joints had to be removed from Miku and Rin. I’ve removed lots of broken joints during these 3 years since I’ve started collecting nendoroids and most of the time all you need are pilers, if that fails then you can just drill.
Joints are made our of two pieces of peg like items, so all you need to do to fix them is to get another peggy part and snap them together. The only problem is that Miku’s teal colored connector is uniquely colored and I don’t have spare teal ones.
As a result I have a beige X teal colored joint connector for Miku. It isnt that obvious because The square hair thingy on her head actually blocks the joint.
As long as she looks presentable and the twintail can be attached I’m pretty satisfied!@ ^^;
Likewise, for Rin I had to ply the peg out from her head and her body. The impact from the drop obliterated the joint and the round thing broke off.
I must say I was quite lucky to manage to recover almost everything that fell except the 2 little ends of her twintail. I contemplated buying another Rin but I think she’s going to be quite a rare find now I decided to put my stock of sculpey clay into good use.
I bought scupley clay last year to make some modded nendoroids but never got around to find the time to do it.
It’s quite basic to work with. All you need to do is scuplt, bake, sand then paint and finally put a top coat on it.
Unfortunately was painted it quite hastily and the end product looked subpar when you look at it close up. But it looks pretty decent from a distance and that’s enough for me. I’ll bokeh the bad painting out when I take pictures of Rin ^^;
After painting Rin and fixing everything, I headed out with comrade scorch to meet up with comrades Shazz, nutcase and zh3us. I brought Miku and Rin out for a test run after their fixes and I think they are working just fine!
Hanging out with comrades like this makes me feel great to be back in Singapore!
A long time ago when I had my very first nendoroid damage when I brought Kureha out I was quite devastated but I decided that people needed to see nendoroids in action out there where they look best and I guess damages and breaks are part and parcel of bringing figure out. I just need to make sure the pictures justify the damages ^^;

hey it’s not that bad, rin looks fine for me ^^ you did a great job
Tyty ^^;
That DIY replacement part of rin’s twintail endings are quite impressive. Maybe you should proceed learning how to make a figure from scratch.
Rin looks great
Awesome job!
Very nice fixes you made there! Rin is almost as good as new!
Nice Image! I might wanna get that scupley of yours!
just wondering what did you use to remove the black spots from Miku?
