Little Explorers

I love this nendoroid and this figma. Super duper adorable bunch. Would bring them out again and do a proper shoot of them! After taking a month’s worth of dollfie shots and coming back to shooting what I originally started at, it’s a breath of fresh air and I have to say, much much easier! Easier to pose and easier to carry around!

Luckily I always bring both my D40 and D90 bodies. For some reason, whenever I go our for figure meets, I have a 50:50 chance of not bringing the battery for one of the bodies. In any case, it has been a long time since I’ve used my D40 and am still so surprised by how good it is for shooting figures outdoors!

As October comes to an end, me and the WLNF gang decided to do our monthly meet up to celebrate upcoming and passed birthdays and catch up on the lives of the members. Before I continue, for the sake of the uninitiated, WLNF [We Love Nendoroids and Figmas] is a group of figure enthusiasts based primarily in Singapore. The group was formed 3 years ago, back when we were all active members back at figure.fm. We meet occasionally for food, figure and possibly photography.

This month had the birthdays of various friends and the usual ritual is to meet up for shoots and food. Unfortunately the day’s planning was a little last minute and the timing was terrible, we didn’t get much shots because of the bad weather so we ended up sitting in cafes. I ended up sleeping in cafes though.

Although I did not get much shots as I wanted, it’s always good to spend more time with these bunch of great friends, laughing and making fun of each other. I always go out solo when I take pictures anyway ^^. It’s harder to focus on the kind picture taking that when the group is too big! The ideal size for travelogues are probably 2-3 people!

 

Dinner was great, it was a steamboat buffet (our favourite, almost all our meetups end up with steamboats for dinner) in a corner of Chinatown! See you guys in AFA!
